Graham's Background

I have lead a very productive life. I have been accomplished many things. I have over come one of my greatest obstacles. I am visually impaired. However, despite this obstacle it has not stopped me from helping others.

Eagle I started with joining the Boy Scouts of America. I joined Troop 86 In Stroudsburg Pennsylvania, which was under the guidance of Scoutmaster Mr. William Wietzmann. Upon having to move I transferred to Troop 85 in Tannersville Pennsylvania, under the guidance of Scoutmaster Mr. Derrer. I earned my Eagle Scout award in August 1988. I went to the Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimorron New Mexico and also The National Scout Jamboree in June of 1989. Over my Scouting years I became a Member of the Order of the Arrow. I Held of the offices of Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and Senior Patrol Leader, and Assistant Scoutmaster.

APO I also have Traveled to Philmont Scout Ranch. It is some of the most amazing 137,000 acres in New Mexico (and the entire Western Hemisphere as far as I am concerned). It is situated in the Sangre de Christo mountains in the northeast corner of the state. Philmont Scout Ranch is the world's largest Scout camp.

APO My concern for helping others did not stop there. Shortly after going off to College at Penn State University I join a group of students that portrayed Service, Leadership, and Friendship. This organization is called Alpha Phi Omega Co-Ed National Service Fraternity. I became a active member at the Alpha Beta Chapter and achieved over 60 hours of service each semester. I soon transferred colleges to Moravian College in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. And became a active member at the Nu Lambda Chapter. While at the Nu Lambda Chapter I help the position of Historian for two years. I am very proud to consider myself a Life Time Member of Alpha Phi Omega.

APO In case you have not wondered through my back yard, I consider nature very dear to my heart. If I am not in front of a computer 9 times out of ten I will be outdoors enjoying nature. I love to do camping, hiking, backpacking, mountain Climbing. I even sharpen up my wilderness survival skills every so often.

My long term goals are less well defined, but centered around application programming, especially scientific and user applications. In addition a number of interests are leading me to extend my knowledge into the fields of networking technology, system design, and software development concerning reliability, qualifying software, and design. In the future my goal is to apply the knowledge gained from the usage of computers to be applied to ecological and biological fields in order to help protect, preserve, and understand these fields.

I have used X-windows and the UNIX operating system extensively in my education at Moravian as well as coordinating and lecturing for a UNIX seminar. In addition, I have used VMS and IBM-DOS operating systems. I know a number of programming languages such as C, C++, Scheme, Prolog, Pascal, and a few others. I adapt quickly to new information. I have been a computer science lab assistant for computer science classes to help students learn and use of software as well as teach programming. I also have serviced as a computer consultant assisting in general use of an assortment of software on a multitude of platforms.

I have entered into the computer science at Masters degree level to emphasize in programming, networking technology, system design, and software development. In addition, I would like to develop user friendly software. Other interests that I wish to continue are Ecology and Biology and its relationship to the environment. (develop more)

I finished my Masters degree and got a job with and economic forcasting company, WEFA and then I got a solid software engineering job with Lockheed Martin. Over the years I have participated in a number of volunteer orgainizations.
Lastly, a life time goal/dream to hike the entire Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia
